6:00 PM - 8:30 PM EST
Number of Lessons: 1
This first Open Drawing Session of 2023, inaugurates a new series dedicated to drawing the human figure, male and female, featuring talented models like Andrea and Mariya, that pose replicating famous artworks, as you can see from the photographic references created specifically for these new Open Drawing sessions, where we will also have informal discussions about the art history of the work featured.
This first session, is dedicated to Andrea Morani, a talented, professional model and photographer: Andrea also takes his own photos!
During this 2:30 hour, online class, we will be drawing this elegant contrapposto pose, reminiscent of the Hellenistic Gaddi Torso displayed at the Uffizi in Florence. We will draw using charcoal and chalk on toned paper, paying particular attention to the effects of the light on the forms of the body, practice to measure the figure accurately and develop a consistent tonal range.
The session is will be recorded, and, as usual, the recording will be added to your New Renaissance Atelier Video library for you to watch as many times as you want.
