A methodical approach to Figure Drawing: from gesture to finished work

Are you looking for a workshop that helps you make order in the complexity of figure drawing? Here it is!

In this 6 week-online, figure drawing course we will practice drawing the figure using a sequential approach: gesture drawing, to capture the dynamism and essential aesthetic aspect of the pose; structural drawing, representing the figure in basic volumes to establish the main proportional and structural characteristics of the body, line drawing, to establish a clear and elegant representation of the organic aspects of the model and finally tonal drawing, shifting from structure to value, to create convincingly realistic artworks.

Materials:

  • Pencils or lead holders with graphite in gradations HB, B, 2B
  • Colored pencils in red-brown such as burnt Sienna, burnt umber, India red; blue colored pencils such as cyan, blue gray, cobalt blue and such.
